Safe Exchange

The Safe Exchange Program is utilized when families need a place and time to exchange children for visitation that is “stress-free” and allows the children to begin a pleasant visit with parents. Some parents may have used the police station or other places and found that it was not conducive to the well-being of the child. Preferred Family Resource monitors will arrive in a child-friendly, safe location and observe / record the exchange. They provide consistency and balance to the situation.

Parents may communicate with the monitor, avoiding communication with the other parent. Monitors escort the children from one parents car to the other. They observe the exchange and record a written report. Monitors can testify in court regarding the observations.
